Key Responsibilities and Skills:
The Chief Internal Auditor will play a critical role in ensuring transparency, compliance, and efficient management of financial resources within the company. Key responsibilities include:
- Internal Audit Leadership:
- Serve as the head of the internal audit function and report directly to the Audit Committee.
- Ensure unrestricted access to financial records and uphold their sanctity.
- Evaluation and Compliance:
- Independently evaluate accounting, financial, and operational activities.
- Formulate audit programs and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Operational Oversight:
- Conduct reviews of personnel policies and oversee compliance in administrative practices.
- Undertake special investigations as directed by the Audit Committee or Board of Directors.
- Team Development:
- Build and lead a team of competent subordinates capable of fulfilling their roles effectively.
- Collaboration:
- Liaise with external and commercial auditors, ensuring seamless coordination.
- Technical Expertise:
- Possess a strong understanding of business processes, financial management, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrate expertise in ERP environments, risk management, and internal controls.
- Strategic Insight:
- Provide actionable recommendations for efficient management of company resources.
Qualifications and Experience:
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Requirements:
- Membership in a recognized body of professional accountants.
- Relevant Experience:
- At least 10 years of experience in audit and risk management, with expertise in designing internal control procedures and ensuring compliance.
- Familiarity with governance, risk, and control frameworks in state-owned enterprises or public-sector projects.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong business acumen and judgment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of International Auditing Standards (IA Standards).
Age Limit:
- Applicants must be under 57 years at the time of the application closing date.
Compensation and Contract Period:
- A market-competitive salary will be offered based on qualifications and experience.
- The initial contract will span three years, extendable upon satisfactory performance. Annual performance evaluations will be conducted by the Board of Directors.
